Jesus Calms the Storm – Peace in the Midst of Chaos

Jesus Calms the Storm – Peace in the Midst of Chaos

Mark 4:35-41 (NIV)

One evening, Jesus and His disciples got into a boat to cross to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus was tired and fell asleep on a cushion in the back of the boat.

Suddenly, a furious squall came up. Waves crashed over the boat, and it began to fill with water. The disciples were terrified. They were fishermen who knew the sea, but this storm was beyond anything they had seen.

They woke Jesus up and shouted, β€œTeacher, don't you care if we drown?”

Jesus got up, looked at the wind and the waves, and said, β€œQuiet! Be still!” Immediately, the wind stopped, and there was complete calm.

Then He turned to the disciples and asked, β€œWhy are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

The disciples were amazed and asked each other, β€œWho is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!”

Moral: No matter how fierce the storm in your life, Jesus has power over it. He may seem asleep, but He is always in control.
