Evening Prayer for Rest and Reflection

Evening Prayer for Rest and Reflection

Psalm 4:8 (NIV)

Loving Father, as the day comes to a close, I come before You with a heart of gratitude. Thank You for walking with me through every hour – through the joys, the struggles, the busy moments, and the quiet ones.

I confess that I have fallen short today. Forgive me for the words I should not have said, for the things I left undone, for the moments I forgot to love as You love. Wash me clean, Lord, and give me a fresh start tomorrow.

As I lay down to sleep, I release all my worries into Your hands. The bills, the relationships, the decisions – I give them to You because You care for me. I choose not to lie awake rehearsing my fears. Instead, I will remember that You never slumber nor sleep, so I can rest safely.

Protect my home and my family through the night. Watch over those who are sick, lonely, or afraid. If I wake again, let me wake with praise. If this night is my last on earth, welcome me into Your eternal rest.

I surrender my sleep to You. Speak to me through dreams if You wish. Quiet my mind and calm my heart. I trust You, Lord.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
